The Archive

Library The Library started by the South Shields Archaeological and Historical Society and expanded by the Arbeia Society is now kept with Tyne and Wear Museums Archaeology Department Library at Arbeia Roman Fort. Members may use the combined library, but please contact the Secretary to arrange a suitable time and date. |
| Slides The Society has a large collection of slides of old South Shields and area. There is an index and listing for most of these slides, but work on them is still on-going. |
| Bibliographies It is hoped to build up a series of bibliographies relevant to the aims of the Society, including Arbeia, other local sites, reconstruction and re-enactment. The first completed one is on Arbeia itself. |
